Nan Baker’s combined love of animals and needlework inspired the creation of her company, PURRFECT SPOTS. Before becoming a quilt designer, Nan’s lifelong love of stitching led her to design cross stitch and needlepoint patterns. Her quilting designs have appeared in many quilting publications such as The Quilt Pattern Magazine, Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks, American Patchwork and Quilting and on QNNtv.com.
Nan is a pattern designer for multiple fabric companies including Andover, Island Batik, Northcott and Timeless Treasures. She is a former Island Batik Ambassador and has had her own Island Batik Signature Collection. Nan is also an Aurifil Designer and an Electric Quilt Artist. She has taught classes at the International Quilt Market in Houston plus spoken at several SchoolHouse events. Her patterns were published in Timeless Treasures, “Pick up Another Six-pack” book. She is the Marketing Director for The Quilt Pattern Magazine (TQPM). As a former disaster responder for The Humane Society of the United States, she spearheaded the TQPM Kennel Quilt project which provides Kennel Quilts for animal shelters affected by disasters. The partners in this program include Aurifil, Bernina, Island Batik, Quilty Box, Benartex and the Petfinder Foundation. Nan is a Lay Speaker for the United Methodist Church. She leaves in Florida with her husband and her kitty, Gibbs. |
