Officer Jack - #2 - "Underwater"
Picture
Shouts attract Officer Jack’s and Kate’s attention in time to see a car roll into the water and start to sink.  While Jack tries the doors and the woman trapped inside pleads for help, the car sinks deeper into the water.  Kate searches for a way to get the woman out, but can she discover it before the car completely disappears?

Officer Jack Underwater Activities

I'm totally smitten with Brewster's books. The reason I crush so hard on them is they're full of heart. Just check out the dedication of this book:

This book is dedicated to police officers everywhere (Federal, State, County, and City) who daily place themselves in harm’s way in order to save lives, protect property, and preserve public safety.

If you want your littles to understand the truth about who police are and what they do, this book (and series) is perfect for that. Coming up with activities for Officer Jack is, for me, an act of honoring Mr. Brewster for honoring our everyday heroes. So I've got some good stuff for you.

Language

The simple text of this book uses adjectives and adverbs sparingly--the way writing should be. Here's a free printable that allows your littles to practice these forms of speech using words pulled directly from the book. Adjectives and Adverbs Free Printable for Story Time: Officer Jack Underwater

Tutorial for Crumpled Watershed Science Project in Story Time:

What Our Clients Are Saying

"Jim, the books we purchased are quite worn now. Our boys really like them. They were impressed that we "actually" knew you. I will gladly review your new book....is it okay if I read it to the boys? Again, thanks for writing the books. Our older boys have ADHD and learning disabilities and your books kept their attention."
